Philip Popeck
Senior Partner
Philip has over 30 years experience and specialises in all aspects of commercial and residential property, as well as business sales and acquisitions where he often works alongside City firms. He has a wide portfolio of clients drawn from various sectors, including private individuals, corporates, investors and developers. His largest client is an international recruitment consultancy group with over 300 premises in the UK, for which he acts on their commercial property transactions.
For private clients Philip prepares wills, advises on Inheritance Tax and sensitively handles probate matters and estate administration.

Lionel Curry
Senior Partner
Lionel is head of our Private Client team. He advises media and sports clients (including Premier League footballers) on all aspects of entertainment law. He also has significant experience advising on probate, wills and taxation for both UK and offshore clients. Lionel has carried out ground-breaking work involving the restitution of homes and businesses for clients in the former East Germany. The firm's founding partner, he started his legal career in the City before setting up Curry Popeck in 1981.

Jonathan Lemon
Partner
Jonathan leads our Residential Conveyancing team and also undertakes private client work including wills, probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney. He is a member of the Court of Protection's Deputyship Panel, advising the mentally ill on their financial affairs. Jonathan also advises high net worth individuals and investors.

Jamie Lester
Partner
Jamie heads our Litigation team and specialises in complex matters involving professional negligence, corporate/commercial, risk management, insolvency, insurance, intellectual property and employment law. He has acted for a major beauty supplier on several international copyright and trademark disputes, and against a national newspaper in a high profile defamation case concerning an international sports celebrity. Jamie advises on a diverse range of disputes for clients in the banking, property, entertainment, fashion and restaurant industries.

Anthony Thompson
Senior Associate
Anthony is head of the Employment team and has over fifteen years' experience advising businesses on day to day people management issues, outsourcing, restructuring, redundancies and major contract variations. A solicitor-advocate, he has successfully defended employers in complex employment tribunal claims involving discrimination, whistleblowing, TUPE and insolvency issues. Anthony advises senior executives on their contracts, reviewing terms, bonus and benefit packages as well as exit strategies. Anthony is a member of the Employment Lawyers' Association and the Discrimination Lawyers' Association. He is a former governor of Orpington College and a founding director of the Black Solicitors' Network.

James Whiteley
Associate
James advises on commercial property, residential conveyancing and private client matters. His commercial property transactions include deals involving industrial estates around the UK, leases for medical premises in Harley Street, and retail leases. He acts for commercial landlords, high net worth individuals and celebrities, and has acted on multi-million pound transactions. James also handles complex wills and probates.

Kate Bowen
Associate
Kate specialises in commercial litigation, property litigation and employment law where she advises on how to avoid litigation, but represents clients at trial when necessary. She has always worked in the West End servicing a range of clients including private individuals, multinational corporations and small family run companies. Her largest client is a major property company where she is counsel for over 100 properties. Kate advises on breaches of contract, negligence, consumer law, debt recovery, insolvency, company issues and residential and commercial landlord and tenant disputes. Kate is an approachable and commercially minded solicitor dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for her client in the most cost efficient manner.

Steven Lux

Steven is a member of the Property and Private Client teams and deals with residential conveyancing, commercial property and wills and probate matters. He is frequently instructed on property matters with values in excess of £5m. Steven prepares leases and negotiates terms for commercial landlords and tenants, including doctors and dentists. He also prepares wills and deals with probate matters, including winding up estates and dealing with aspects of Inheritance Tax planning for high net worth individuals.

Reshma Patel

Reshma advises on residential and commercial conveyancing matters, re-mortgaging and re-financing, enfranchisement and lease extensions. Paul Leggett
Practice Director
Having spent 5 years in the City and 15 in the West End Paul has overall responsibility for the day to day operation of the firm. Paul is responsible for the whole ambit of administrative and financial matters including regulatory compliance, best practice, personnel, premises, equipment, logistics, marketing and IT. He focuses on business strategy, client relations, financial management and when needed, change management.
